Spinal Flow Technique
What is spinal flow?
Spinal Flow is a gentle, non-invasive technique that works directly with the nervous system to release long-held physical, chemical and emotional blockages. This restores communication within the brain and spine, and creates conditions for the body to heal itself.
Throughout life, physical strain, emotional stress, illness, injury, and trauma can create layers of tension within the spine and nervous system. Over time, these layers may become spinal blockages — areas where communication between the brain and body is disrupted. When this communication is compromised, the body’s natural ability to regulate, repair, and heal itself can be affected.
Spinal Flow supports the nervous system to identify and release these blockages, allowing the body’s innate healing intelligence to re-establish flow and function.
Rather than forcing healing, Spinal Flow allows the body to unwind in its own time—gently, safely, and intelligently.
Sessions are calm, grounded, and deeply respectful of where your body is right now.
Understanding Spinal Blockages
The nervous system is the body’s master control system, coordinating movement, digestion, hormone regulation, immune response, emotional regulation, and more.
Spinal blockages can be thought of as static interference within this system. They may develop as a result of:
physical injury or strain
prolonged stress or overwhelm
emotional trauma or unresolved experiences
chemical stressors such as inflammation or illness
These blockages don’t just affect one area—they can influence how the whole body functions. Where they are present, the body may struggle to adapt, regulate, and recover efficiently.
The Spinal Wave and the Seven Gateways
At the heart of Spinal Flow is the spinal wave — a rhythmic movement within the spine that reflects healthy nervous system communication.
Spinal Flow works with seven gateways of the spine, each corresponding to specific spinal regions.
These gateways are used to assess where blockages are being stored in the spine.
By gently activating specific access points along the sacrum and cranium—areas where the protective layer around the spinal cord is closest to the surface and the most nerve dense—the practitioner connects with the nervous system to begin the process of releasing these layers.
As blockages reduce, the spinal wave strengthens, supporting greater ease, health, and resilience throughout the body.
What conditions does spinal flow support?
If you can think of it then Spinal Flow can support it.
There are no contraindications with this modality.
Some examples are:
Fatigue and sleep disturbances
Digestive discomfort (such as reflux, bloating, constipation)
Sciatica
Trauma and Injury
Menopause
Many clients also seek Spinal Flow as a complementary approach alongside other therapies or medical care.
Spinal Flow is extremely gentle and suitable for people of all ages, including:
babies and children
adults
during pregnancy and post-natal stages
Sessions are adapted to each individual, respecting the body’s pace and capacity for change.
